Letter to White House to Stop DHS Tech Deportations

We recently joined 100+ organizations in a letter on Friday urging the White House to immediately use its authority to terminate DHS’ non-compliant AI programs and to deny waivers and exemptions that would enable DHS to continue withholding information from the public about its use of AI for surveillance, detention and deportations.

Please see today’s press coverage of the letter for more information. As the article describes, DHS’ technology-backed surveillance, detention and deportation programs will only expand as government attacks on immigrant communities are supercharged in the months and years ahead. Therefore, it is critical that our groups use this current moment to escalate pressure on DHS regarding transparency around AI uses.
