2024 In Review
Happy New Year from MIBF. This week, we're reflecting on our work this past year and looking forward. Throughout the year we work to free individuals from ICE detention. In 2024 we helped free 19 individuals from detention, totaling $83,000. We were able to do this with the support of our community, family members, and grants. This makes the average bond we posted last year: $4,368.

Letter to White House to Stop DHS Tech Deportations
We recently joined 100+ organizations in a letter on Friday urging the White House to immediately use its authority to terminate DHS’ non-compliant AI programs and to deny waivers and exemptions that would enable DHS to continue withholding information from the public about its use of AI for surveillance, detention and deportations.
18th person FREED from ICE custody this year
We believe that all individuals, without any exceptions, are worthy of dignity and respect and that the detention of all individuals is unjust, unnecessary, and should be abolished. We are thrilled to announce that MIBF has successfully served as the obligor for our 18th bond posting this year!
Message To The White House To Act Now
Last week, MIBF joined 192 immigrant and civil rights organizations in a letter sent to President Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas urging them to take immediate action to protect immigrant communities before the next president follows through on his mass deportation plans, separating families and upending the lives of millions of people in the process.

Increasing Systemic Abuses in Immigration Detention Demonstrate Urgent Need for Presumption of Release of Vulnerable Populations
Last week, we joined 90+ immigration groups in asking President Biden to release vulnerable people with illnesses or disabilities, who are LGBTQ+, or who are at risk of persecution or torture from detention centers across the United States as being detained puts their lives in jeopardy.

We Are In This Together
The Midwest Immigration Bond Fund is committed to working toward liberation today, tomorrow, and beyond. Whatever the outcome of the election today, we will continue to fight for immigrant rights and dignity.
1 more person FREED from ICE
